All Along the Watchtower
That is not an easy choice: But in this case I have to decide in favour of the cover version ofJimi Hendrix. His style of playing guitar is just sensational.
Bob Dylan was impressed by Jimis version of his song, too. So he even once played it during a concert in the style of Jimi Hendrix.
But I can't wait to see how you will vote...

Comments about All Along the Watchtower:
This site is a joke. You can't in your right mind ever compare a cover to an original. It doesn't take much for someone to take an original and ad an electric guitar or a few more basses. I thinks it's unfair comparing the two; just think of all the blood and sweat the original artist put into creating a song.

This is incredible cover by Jimi, and is one of the best guitar anthems of all time. and yes, to this day Dylan plays it in the style that Jimi did.
but the lyrics of this song are meant to haunt your soul, which is completely lost in Jimi's version

Jimi Hendrix version has the vigor which the song's lyrics demand

It's close, i love both artists and all of their songs. I think Jimi edges it but some of Bob's songs are better than some of Jimi's. Saw Bob live recently on UK tour and he was great, wish i could have seen Jimi too!

Hendrix just does it better. Even Dylan said himself, that although he wrote it, Hendrix owns this song.

I knew this song by Hendrix long before Dylan, and I can't really stomach the Dylan version. Jimi gets my vote.
