All Along the Watchtower
That is not an easy choice: But in this case I have to decide in favour of the cover version ofJimi Hendrix. His style of playing guitar is just sensational.
Bob Dylan was impressed by Jimis version of his song, too. So he even once played it during a concert in the style of Jimi Hendrix.
But I can't wait to see how you will vote...

Comments about All Along the Watchtower:
Both these men are genius. Jimi was a huge Dylan fan and used to sit in front of the stereo listening to Dylans songs and would stop his girlfriend leaving the room because she was going to miss some important part of the song. And Dylan apparently said this song is now Jimi's song, I have to agree with him.

A very tough one. I THINK I prefer Bob's version...But as somebody stated earlier it all depends on the mood you're in.

Even Bob Dylan himself liked Jimi's version of it better. He said Jimi did things with that song that he never would have thought of. When the original artist likes the cover better than his own original song, you have to give it to the cover.

Come on, who voted for Dylan's version? really?

Different moods - to me the Hendrix version rocks more (the guitar!), but the Dylan version has a certain desperation to it. Again depends on my mood.

Sí, Jimi Hendrix

Jimis version was truely anointed as we say in Christendom it was better than Dylans . But Dylan should be proud that he created a work that can be bettered and made to sound great.
Does anyone know what sort of license Bob gave Jimi anyway?

Even if not his, it's my favourite Jimi's song.
Jimi took Dylan's lyrics and made them his.
The music pattern is really simple, but it's a masterpiece: Jimi shows samples of his whole technique.

This is a stupid contest/argument. Even Dylan agrees that Jimi's version is perfect.

If people dont recognize the overwhelming energy in Dylan's original, what can I do about it???
