All Along the Watchtower
That is not an easy choice: But in this case I have to decide in favour of the cover version ofJimi Hendrix. His style of playing guitar is just sensational.
Bob Dylan was impressed by Jimis version of his song, too. So he even once played it during a concert in the style of Jimi Hendrix.
But I can't wait to see how you will vote...

Comments about All Along the Watchtower:
Dylan's lyrics are great, but Hendrix' style is what really made this song a true classic.

I have to agree with you. Dave Matthews takes All Along The Watchtower to a whole new level. But Jimi's version is still a little bit better.

In terms of Bob Dylan vs Jimi Hendrix I would have to say Jimi although I am a fan of Bob. However, the best cover I have heard of this song is by Supertramp. You can find this version on youtube under the name 'Supertramp Portrait 1970.' Thanks.

Sorry guys. Going to have to go with Hendrix. Bob is a creative genius but Jimi is phenomenal in this song. He gives the song a very powerful feel.

Dylan's has more of a feel to it. It makes you think. Not saying I Don't like Hendrix's take on it. I just don't think you can beat Dylan when it comes to singing something that HE wrote. It's HIS WAY of singing it that made Hendrix want to do it. Hendrix LOVED Dylan.

This site is a joke. You can't in your right mind ever compare a cover to an original. It doesn't take much for someone to take an original and ad an electric guitar or a few more basses. I thinks it's unfair comparing the two; just think of all the blood and sweat the original artist put into creating a song.

This is incredible cover by Jimi, and is one of the best guitar anthems of all time. and yes, to this day Dylan plays it in the style that Jimi did.
but the lyrics of this song are meant to haunt your soul, which is completely lost in Jimi's version
