Knockin' on Heaven's Door
In this case the decision is quite difficult for me. On the one hand so many bands covered this great song, but Guns 'n' Roses created the best cover version. On the other hand the original version by Bob Dylan fits in my opinion better to this song.
So finally my winner here is Bob Dylan.

Guns N Roses. If it were not for them I wouldn't have even heard this song. Bob Dylan was simply not of my time (i'm 21 now).

Although I'm loving Guns 'n Roses and never succeeded in appreciating Bob Dylan, for this song the credits go to Bob Dylan for sure! His version is so raw and stripped and therefore makes you wonder and feel the pain. The version of GNR is just another cover and just a (yes, very good) musical show. Doesn't offer you anything else, for example: thinking and worrying about what this song could mean

I definitely prefer the G & R version. Bob Dylan sounds always better when he's covered.

Find the GnR MTV music video where they are playing live in front of a packed stadium and my next sentence will make more sense. I would give anything to have been in the crowd during those 7 minutes in which everything in the world was right.

The GnR - Live Era '87-'93 CD version is amazing. I've probably played the song 1000x, but that version will always get my blood flowing.
