Cover vs. Original

Comfortably Numb

Both songs are good, but the Tool version is more modern. That makes the song not better, but I like it better.

I'm listening to it as we speak. They have never put it on any album but they've played it live. Stop being thickheaded and do some research perhaps. Tool is amazing and Brick you can kill yourself. The cover however isn't that great at all, one of their worst songs by far.

I don't think tool ever did a cover either because if they did I would be writing this from prison serving twenty to life for cruely murdering the tool assholes, ensuring they never produce crappy music again.

YOU GUYS ARE UNINFORMED IDIOTS. Tool has NEVER done a cover of comfortably numb. The Salival album pictured DOES NOT HAVE COMFORTABLY NUMB ON IT, nor does ANY OTHER album. Tool is imo the best band on the planet now, but Pink Floyd were the best of their time too.

I don't beleive TOOL has made a cover of Confortably Numb; but if there is such cover it's not on any album, maybe a bootleg that I haven't heard. NO ONE can ever touch Pink Floyd, EVER. But I will say this, I beleive that TOOL is the closest thing to what Pink Floyd was, meaning as a present time phenomena, as a multimedia act and as in-depth mental travelers.

OMG! Tool stole no quater and compfotably numb!? Get your own idea's tool!! I hate all covers good or bad. Bands say they cover the song to make it better but it doesen't. And the generation of the cover think it's thier song giving no credit to the original masterminds. Even if the origianl is crap nothing beats it. If you were a writter you would'nt re-write a book would you?

Nothing's like an original Pink Floyd song. I mean it's obvious that they still can't bring anything like what PF guys did so many years ago.

Pink Floyd is one of the best rock/classic rock/however you want to define them bands of our era. Tool is good, but they are nowhere even near the technical and thematic mastery of the art form that Pink Floyd conjured up. Comfortably Numb is an original Pink Floyd song. Any band can come along and make an astounding cover. But to actually innovate and conceive of the song in the first place? That takes something called genius. Thumbs up to Pink Floyd on this one.

their IS a TOOL and MASSIVE ATTACK song but its not a pink floyd cover. its a remix to stinkfist. nowhere near as good as the original stinkfist. pink floyd sure r awesome but tool are the best thing to ever happen to this world.
