Cover vs. Original

Whiskey in the Jar

Thin Lizzys version is a classic song, but Metallica is more powerful! A hard decision!

I have to give this one to Thin Lizzy. Phil's voice fits it better, he sounds more sincere over the events that happen in the song. Whereas James is just being James. While I will agree Metallica the Thin Lizzy version is too good.

the thin lizzy version is better than metalica's as is Luke Kelly's and Pogues/Dubliners
thin lizzy wrote the music for their version and changed some of the lyrics
metallica did a cover of the lizzy song but left out the intro and don't sing the first chorus

Both bands are great but, the thin lizzy version is of course better, Eric Bell kicks butt on that solo as does Hammett but they just cant compete with classic Thin Lizzy and Lynotts vocals are awesome too.
