Say what you want about Celine Dion, she's got a thrilling voice on that (pre-Titanic) track. However, originally written and performed by Jennifer Rush in the mid 80s, I still go with that one. A classic track which went to No. 1 in both versions: Jennifer Rush hit the No. 1 in Europe, while Celine Dion went to No. 1 in the states.

There is no chance to compare Celine Dion's voice with Jennifer's. Jennifer's has a voice formed for opera (initially).
more powerful, better vocal timbre and "round". Celine has a very good voice but more strident that Jennifer's. For those who want to hear the voice qualities of Jennifer just listen "Who wants to live forever" (with Brian May) or "I come undone".

If people would listen to this song with their ears instead of their eyes and the media, they would notice that Jennifer's voice is so much more refined, matured, precise. Celine sounds like a little girl from school trying to copy a piece of art. Why would Celine not tell the world that she is not the original signer of that song? Because she knows she can't sing it as good as Jennifer. Listen carefully to the richness and no one should compare these two signers. Popularity doen not make someone more talented nor does it gives to right to steal someone elses song and make it it's own.

Jennifer's voice has far more power, and gravitas in my opinion. I imagine she could have become a great operatic mezzo soprano, had she chosen differently in her singing career choices
