Cover vs. Original

This Woman's Work

God, I love both of these versions. Such a beautiful song. Maxwell does a tremendous job of capturing the essence. Remarkable since he's a male, naturally. His falsetto gives the song a more soulful & seductive sound. But Bush's warmth & tender beauty keeps drawing me in. If I want sleak & sexy though, I'd go with Maxwell.

Maxwell's neo soul touch is refreshing and the sound is more please to this generations ears, bet in reality there's no beating kate bush's original. words tempo and pitch where virtual this same in maxwell's version. He basically pays tribute to her, well done might i add. So while i like maxwell version better, without kate bush i wouldn't be hear writing this.....

Maxwell's version killed Kate Bush's version. Kate Bush is great but Maxwell makes her sound soooooo bad. Partly due to the fact he has the greatest voice of all time. Maxwell hands down.

I think Maxwell's version is better, Hands down! Maxwell's version is smooth and soothing and loving. While kate's seems to focus so much on pronouncing every letter and every syllable! Maxwell won this.. Hands DOWN!

Although Maxwell did a good job on this classic, it's Kate hands down as only she can sing her own song with such passion and emotion that it leaves you blown away each time you hear it.

Who is Maxwell?

Although I do respect Kate Bush's creativity and masterpiece, Maxwell diffently, diffently did better in my opinion. His voice is soothing while her's is harsh. She sounds great, don't get me wrong, but Maxwell put his own thing in it and brought the song to a wider range of audiences while I did not even know who Kate Bush was! He really did the song justice.

There is just no way anyone can ever do better than Kate Bush on this song. The original brings me to tears every time I hear it.
