Cover vs. Original

I Heard It Through The Grapevine

Actually the original is from Gladys Knight & The Pips but I think the version of Marvin Gaye is better known.

The CCR version is THE version. this song was just some old song until i heard the ccr version of it, especially the long version. they definately could have written it, but since they didnt they did the most awesome cover ever.

I voted for CCR, but Gladys Knight's version is the best.

Noooo!!!! How could you skip Gladys Knight's version??? It's even better than Marvin's and a gazillion times better than the silly white-guy-boozed-out version by Fogerty and Co.

CCR and John Fogerty have got plenty of soul. CCR's version is better.

Being that the song was written by Barrett Strong/Norman Whitfield, neither could really be considered an "original". I vote for CCR's just because it's so great in a different way. John Fogerty (SP) is just fantastic on it. No disrespect to Mr. Gay though, his version is soulful and smooth as velvet.

AreYou Crazy?!? First of all Gladys Knight and the pips was the original, Marvin's was Just a bigger hit. and CCR 's version was crap. and I like CCR
