Cover vs. Original

Crying in The Rain

I simply love the a-ha version more because of Morten's vocals. He simply makes the song so haunting and sad.

The Everly Brothers have a certain honesty to it I don't think the other version had. The 'atmospherics' i think took away from the bare nature of the original. Everly's singing this live at their renunion was probably the best rendition

Morten;s vocals are truly amazing, they can send shivers down one's spine, truly gifted. There cover version, is just truly amazing, and only complements the original.

The AHA cover is a little bit bombastic with the new elements, the original version is simple and clear, and good to listen to it.

WOW! I remember when this song came out, I loved it... Now almost 20 years later I found out it was a cover! Amazing. I stick to A-HA on this one.

I agree with Jack from Columbus. The Everly Brothers version owns. A-ha's cover is a horrible, cheesy, 80-ized cover that never should have been created.

The "a-ha" version of course, more feeling, more atmospheric, is great!

A-Ha is cheap fake tear-puller. copycats. over-dramatized pop. no real feeling, no talent... they CAN sing i give them that.

A very good song.
I do not dismiss the original, but I like A-Ha's version better. They arranged it with new elements (sounds of thunder and rain, instruments, backing vocals, etc.).

I agree with most of the things said.. the A-ha version really puts a shiver up your spine, it's that good.
