Cover vs. Original

C'Mon everybody

This song has been covered so many times, and although the original is great, the cover by the one and only Sid Vicious of the Sex Pistols has a real powerful sound, that Cochran couldn't give it.

As an early rock pioner and THE punk icon, both character played important parts in their fields. Both tragically killed at just 21, this song, either the mellow but jazzy eddie version or the punk rock version by Sid, this song is a gem, enjoy.

p.s. rest in peace Sid and Eddie

Eddie wrote a great set of lyrics, but sid gave i a power, just as he did my way and c'mon everybody, that eddie couldnt even come close to achieving. r.i.p. sid vicious!!!

Eddie Cochran did the best version unlike the damn sex pistols who didn't even use their own instruments. Go Eddie Cochran!!!!!!!!!

What happened to the jews was unforgivable and Sid as a wearer of swastika shirts and writer of 'belsen was a gas', the most horrifying song ever, he is a nob. But forgetting his drugs, voilence and potential murder, he was a fun loving, warm, clever guy and what were voting for here is c'mon everybody, not Sids personality.

Well I'm sorry but as a Jewish person I'm offended by him being a fucking Nazi
- Jim, Rome, United States, 02.02.2008
Jim how the fuck do you know what Sid was like, its called a hardman image, the boy underneath was a clever and shy person, but i suppose you just go on reputaiton, cock. My vote: Vicious

I agree he may have been punk personified and I like the pistols as much as the next guy but Sid was a real dick. My vote: Cochran

sid was the prsonification of pissed off teens, as is this song. Eddie, of course made it, but Sid MADE it
Pistols rule!
- rudy, vulcan, Canada, 06.01.2008
Sid vicious was the spawn of satan, eddie was a nice guy, sid used to be a racist, voilent, druggie murderer and although he was punk personified, he was a bit of a bastard, the poor innocent boy inside him needed help though. Both songs r gr8
- Tom, Dungeon, Germany, 14.12.2007
