Comments about The Crusher:

@ LJR - I think Lux's growl is better! the Novas sound like a choking bear, no offense. The crusher is a great song, but it sounds like it was written for the sinister style of the Cramps. Maybe it's just me, but the Novas sound seriously lame next to the Cramps

Don't get me wrong, I think both versions are great - but I'm siding with Lux (RIP) and The Cramps. While the original is great fun, it sounds a little too much like a 'novelty' record for my taste. The Cramps version maintains a sense of humour while adding a dose of sinister into the mix.

I actually own the Cramps 12" single of the song "the crusher" The grooves are really widely spaced and you can play it at 45 rpm. Although I have heard both versios I like the humour in Lux's voice and so vote for the Cramps version. Although I'm sure if Lux were alive he'd vote for the Novas. Say hi to Elvis for me big guy.

There's a certain intensity in the cover, but Lux just doesn't get that growl right. My vote's with the original.

The Cramps cover is great, but the original is one of a kind! Gotta go with the original.
