Viva Las Vegas
The Dead Kennedys didn't do a lot of covers, but when they did do them they made great parodies of the originals. "Viva Las Vegas", a staple of their live shows, is no different.

Ha!!! It says that right now the vote is split exactly 50%-50%!
Well, I'm gonna tilt things over to the DK's because they're version has a whole layer of drama and meaning and overall menace that The King simply didn't have any use for on this particular tune. The Dead Kennedy's version is like an antidote to a creepy brand of socio-political toxic sludge, yet it's hilarious at the same time.
I bet Jello Biafra couldn't have made it with Anne Margaret (mmm, yummy) in a million years though...
(Oh and I'll take Elvis over Nick Cave on "In the Ghetto" any day of the week.)

I agree the ZZ Top version is awesome, and whoever said Elvis and the dead Kennedys should have performed together...you're a dumb ass

No mention of the ZZ Tops version here. I like the Elvis version. But he didn't write that many originals, mostly covers, it seems. Was this really his? Good on him.
