No Quarter
TOOLs reinvention of this decent at best Led Zeppelin tune is fantastic. Long, loud, and loaded with the the fantastic sounds you would expect from a band that only releases albulms every 4-6 years. TREMENDOUS!

Comments about No Quarter:
i beleive zep and tool are the best bands of their time. they're the musician's band. both absolutely original and forever unique. yes, technically jimmy page is a superior guitar player to adam, although no so in creativity (it's a draw at best to adam's advantage). danny truly blows the crap out of john (moby dick isn't really that impressive). danny's drums are the true driving force of tool. justin is at least as good a bassist as john paul. it's impossibly to compare the robert and maynard so i won't. if you're a zeppelin fan and dislike tool, you've never "heard" tool or you're a zeppelin fan for the wrong reasons and you're an idiot. i truly believe zeppelin is the greatest band ever, i must take into consideration that competition was relatively lacking in the late 60s and early 70s. to achieve an original sound in the modern era is much more challenging. hat's off to tool.

Wow, I'm amazed at how much hatred there is here.. The fact of the matter is that Zep wrote an amazing song, that sounds completely in tune with the style of their time. Tool took it, and tweaked it to sound perfect to the ears of *their* time.
Nowadays, the Zep original sounds somewhat 'flat' and esoteric, especially when you consider Plant's "blue" style of singing.
Tool, on the other hand made it almost a completely new song. Sure, Jones is no Page, and so on, but they are amazingly adept musicians _of a different style_. They play the song to the best of their abilities, and the thing that makes it truly unique is Maynard's perfectly in tune vocals - no 'blue' notes to be heard.
For me personally, as a university-trained composer, and guitarist in my own band, the choice is tough, but the Tool version just nudges out the Zep original, if only because it's one of the few "original covers" to have been recorded.

I love the job that Tool did with this song. If you have ever heard any Led Zeppelin bootlegs on which they performed this tune(particularly 'Listen To This Eddie')show from 1977, then this discussion is over. Led Zeppelin took this song(and many others)in concert to such levels of intensity, it was clear why many consider them rock's greatest band.

Tool's cover is brilliant, they didn't try to sound like Led Zep,D.Carey isn't Bonham,A.Jones isn't Page but it's the best tribute to Led Zep.
I wish Tool was popular in my country.

First off,I would like to say up yours Luke Tariq, you little scrotum sucker. Secondly, the members of tool dont deserve a capital T nor are they worthy of being ass raped by Jimmy Page's guitar.

Yeah Jesse Dale calm down, you're being compltely ignorant and just giving everyone this picture of you as an unintelligent, fouled mouthed wanker.
I love Tool and Zeppelin, both my favourite bands like! You know you obviously hats off to Zeppelin for writing the masterpiece and all that wouldnt be the same without them yadda yadda yadda we've been praising them for thirty odd years now.The tool cover is amazing, all amazing musicians and artists and you have to admit, when maynard sings the "Off to a place where no-one....GOOOOOOOOOOOOES!!!" it's hauntingly chillungly brilliant and amazing.I voted the tool version mainly for it's technical production and mixing because it's just masterclass. Love it!
