Mr. Lonely / Lonely
The original is a classic played for many years in my house as a child and I have quite fond memories of the song, however, I have to admit that I prefer the updated version purely because I hate sampling in songs but this was quite a genius use of an old classic and I think it does the song some kind of justice that it rightly deserves.

ok first of all race has nothing to do with it and akon is just ripping off bobbys song akon prob never wrote it when he was sad or lonely or breaking up with a girl hes just like oooo a good song lets rip it and make it sad Bobby vinton on the other hand wrote it when he was AT WAR which he was truly sad cuz he was lonely and he wanted to go on .. both are good singers but bobby vinton version of mr.lonely is always going to be better than akons thats just the facts u cant change it im sry for people who think the other way..

Bobby Vinton's origonal version "Mr. Lonely" is moving and inspiring, it capured the emotions and tone of the War going on at the time and I think everyone can appreciate that.

I have respect for AKON's version, but Bobbies is far superior. The depth of a soldier feeling alone in another country fighting for our freedom is many times more painful than breaking up with a woman. If you believe that Race is the Reason for liking one over the other you are a simple mind, with no real future.
