Have I Told You Lately
I would have to say I like Van Morrison's version better, however Rod Stewart does a great job doing his version too.

Comments about Have I Told You Lately:
I am a HUGE Rod Stewart fan but have to say Van's version ruled in this 'battle'. By quite some margin. Simply awesome.

Strange, Van Morrison wrote it ? This song was already recorded in the '50 by Ricky Nelson, Eddie Cochran and many others. Still think the Rod Stewart version is the BEST !

Van Morrison wrote it and it is a spiritual song (about Christ), not the saccharine slush the cover turned it into. I am not a religious guy, but at least the original was sincere

I think Hank Williams St. sung it best. Next best was Sissy Spacek, in "Coal Miner's Daughter."

Bryan Tremblay is correct. Mai, Other Europe and Michael, Germany are confusing Van Morrison's song with another "Have I told you lately" written by Lulu Belle & Scotty Wiseman. Check out their lyrics & try singing them with van Morrison or Rod (good luck):
Have I told you lately that I love you
Could I tell you once again somehow
Have I told, with all my heart and soul how I adore you
Well darlin' I'm tellin' you now.
This heart would break in two if you refuse me
I'm no good without you anyhow
Dear have I told you lately that I love you
Well darlin' I'm tellin' you now.
Tony Bennet sang another "Have I told you Lately", but it is neither of the two.

Yes the song was written to Christ. Morrison was a Christian.
