Ok, I have to admit something: I can't be objective about this because I really hate Sting. And even though the cover of Alanis is not a great thing, it will always be better than the original one. At least in my opinion, of course.

Oh my goodness, I think its ridiculous to hate Alanis of because of what she did as a teenager. Do we generally judge 30 year olds by what they did fifteen to twenty years ago?
That said, I have to say that, while I have like much of Alanis' music, her cover of "King of Pain" doesn't work for me. Sting has it in the bag...his voice is so haunting, and so much more suited for the emotion of the song than Alanis' voice.
