Butterfly

In 1999 the American band "Crazy Town" reached a No.1-Hit with the song "Butterfly" in Germany and in the US. But perhaps many people don't know, that the song was already written ten years before. The "Red Hot Chili Peppers" published this song in an instrumental version with the title "Pretty Little Ditty" in 1989. "Crazy Town" only added a text to the melody and the No.1-Hit was ready.
In my opinion the instrumental version is really upgraded with the remake, so my vote goes to "Crazy Town". Nevertheless the song doesn't reflect the true style of "Crazy Town". The rest of the album, which is a mixture of rock, metal and rap, is absolutely awful. "Butterfly" was the only real success.

I Dont think crazytown has done something wrong.it was a tune with a small duration in the pretty little ditty...ya sure rhcp created it but it was the crazytown who made/remixed/converted this tune to like something special that we still remember.hats off to crazytown all the way..the lyrics was awesome.who can forget,,it topped the hit lists in 1999-2002.thanx 2 the whole crazytown for gifting hiphop lovers with something like BUTTERFLY.MISS U CRAZYTOWN....WANT U BACK AGAIN.....................

Let the artists' work speak for itself. RHCP have countless hits, albeit after changing their sound to be somewhat more radio friendly, Crazy Town have what, just that song. CRAZY TOWN FAIL.

I am a music student, as such i know a lot about copyrights, law states that its considered a copy when the debated part is longer than 2 measures, in this case the main theme of the base is 4 measures long. You guys should not talk about things you dont know about.

Um... this is not a cover... Crazy Town made a good song from a SAMPLE of a RHCP song... this should be removed.
