Butterfly

In 1999 the American band "Crazy Town" reached a No.1-Hit with the song "Butterfly" in Germany and in the US. But perhaps many people don't know, that the song was already written ten years before. The "Red Hot Chili Peppers" published this song in an instrumental version with the title "Pretty Little Ditty" in 1989. "Crazy Town" only added a text to the melody and the No.1-Hit was ready.
In my opinion the instrumental version is really upgraded with the remake, so my vote goes to "Crazy Town". Nevertheless the song doesn't reflect the true style of "Crazy Town". The rest of the album, which is a mixture of rock, metal and rap, is absolutely awful. "Butterfly" was the only real success.

Oh my fucking god, how could any Red Hot Chili Peppers fan concone the crazy tomw version of such a beautiful song that was OBVIOUSLY made to be purely instrumental. RHCP's lyrics are amazing, and as for whoever it was that said that RHCP didn't know what to do with it well fuck you! The band could have VERY easily have written another brilliant song to fit the pretty little ditty melody!!!!!
Red Hot Chili Peppers all the way!!!!!!!!!!! Seeing them live on July 11th!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I like Pretty Little Ditty, and love the Chilis, but you can tell even from the title that they had no idea what to do with it. Crazy Town turned it into a great song, and brought earlier Chili Peppers music to the attention of more people. Definitely gets my vote...

To be fair ya this is cover, and it pales in comparison with RHCP. It also goes to show you how untalented crazytown is being that the only song they had real success with was written 10 years earlier, and all they did was rap over it, but wait isn't that what all rap is.

To be fair this is not a cover. Chilli Peppers had a musical/instrumental version that they suggested Crazy Town use early in Crazy Town's career when they opened for the Chilli Peppers.
